I recently finished making myself a new satin coat. Woo hoo – I am happy with it.

Background: When I was a college student, one of my college friends was an exchange student from Japan. She graduated before I did. She’d bought a bunch of North American items she wanted to take back to Japan, but had trouble fitting it all in her luggage. So, she gave me her satin Japanese coat to make more room in her luggage (brown satin coat with red poodles all over it). I dearly loved that coat.  Plus, I was the only person in town with a coat like it – bonus! Well, I had it for about a year-and-half when someone stole it! Groan! They couldn’t wear it around town as they’d be caught if I saw them wearing it……Well, I’ve been missing that coat all these years. So, I’ve made myself a new satin coat!
